Specific Learning Disability
A Specific Learning Disability is a disorder that affects one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or using language. This may show up in different ways, including difficulty with listening, thinking, speaking, reading, writing, spelling, or doing math.
Specific Learning Disability can include conditions such as perceptual disabilities, brain injury, minimal brain dysfunction, dyslexia, and developmental aphasia. These challenges are not the result of vision, hearing, or motor disabilities, nor are they caused by intellectual disabilities, emotional challenges, cultural or environmental factors, economic disadvantage, or limited English proficiency.
At Dyslexia Practitioner NJ, we understand that every learner is unique. Our approach is supportive and tailored to each student’s strengths and needs. We work closely with families to help identify learning barriers and create individualized strategies for success. Our goal is to help every student build confidence, master important skills, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
If you have concerns about your child’s learning or want to discuss assessment or tutoring options, we are here to help you take the next step.
